So this past Saturday, I went to St Augustine for the first time, and it was so incredible! It is the oldest town in America, and it was so much fun to explore it. The streets were made of brick, and all the building had this old fashioned feel to them which was so adorable because most were the original building but just updated. Every restaurant that we passed by smelled so delicious, I wanted to eat at every single one. We had an amazing time in St. Augustine.
We started off our day in St. Augustine by going to this super adorable little coffee shop right outside of the main downtown area. The coffee shop was called Juniper Market, and oh my goodness, it is one of the best coffee shops that I have ever gone to. It was so bright inside, and had such a pleasant aesthetic about the place. I loved it so much, and the coffee was excellent. Juniper Market was so perfect and it made me so happy inside.
Another really cool thing about this place was that it had an art studio inside of it, and there were windows so you could see into the art studio. The artist that worked there is named Jenna Alexander, and she is a very talented artist, they even sold her art at the coffee shop. Check out her art here: https://www.jenna-alexander.com/ I so wish there was a Juniper Market in Daytona, I would absolutely go there everyday.
When going to St Augustine, I feel like it is required to visit the fort Castillo de San Marcos. We didn’t go inside, but we walked all around the outside of it, and it was actually pretty incredible. It was a beautiful structure that appeared pretty indestructable. We walked through the old moat of the fort, and I thought it would never end with each corner I turned, the fort is absolutely massive.
Exploring the streets was my favorite part, there was just so much to see, and everything was so beautiful. There were millions of cute little shops and restaurants, and everything there had the same aesthetic of a very old town. We walked through the college campus that was there, and even that was absolutely breathtaking.
After exploring the dowtown streets, we headed over to the beach to walk around. The beach was so beautiful, and wasn’t too busy, especially for being a Saturday. The thing I liked best about the beach was that there were mostly small houses lining it compared to giant hotels like in Daytona. It had a much more calmer feeling because of it.
All in all, St. Augustine is a very interesting little town, and I would highly recommend going to see it. Have you been before? I’d love to hear about it.
Have a lovely day!
