She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.
Proverbs 31 is definitely one of the best chapters to read for any Christian Woman out there, and it is definitely one of my favorites, but today I want to focus on just one of the verses from that chapter. Verse 26 is a short but an extremely powerful verse. Proverbs 31 is an example of how Christian woman ought to live their lives, and in this verse is instructing us that when we speak, we should speak wisely and always with kindness.
The first part of this verse, she openeth her mouth with wisdom is a very good thing to remind ourselves daily. We so often speak without thinking, and we end up saying things that are the complete opposite of wisdom. I’ve definitely become much better at this than I used to, when I was a teenager, I often would say the first thing that came to mind, and almost always got me in trouble. I still do it sometimes as I always will because I am flawed, but I can do my best to do as this verse instructs me to.
The second part of this verse is my favorite part, in her tongue is the law of kindness. I am a huge advocate for kindness, and I just loves how the verse says, “law,” of kindness implying that should be no other way to speak besides with kindness because it is a law. Speaking everything you say with kindness will change your entire life, and everyone around you lives’ too. It makes you feel much lighter, and it helps almost every situation better. I try my best to be as kind as possible everyday, and it is something that we should all practice. There are countless verses about being kind, I know that God wants us to be kind and to love everyone just as he loves us. It is such a beautiful thing.
Try to keep this verse in your mind as you go about life each day, it really will make a difference.
Grace and kindness be with you.
